Admissions (Years 7-11)

Year 7

Applications for a place at Writhlington School need to be submitted via the Local Authority in which you live. You will receive a letter from your Local Authority containing your child's Unique Identification Number (UID). Once you have this information an application can be made online.

Alternatively, you can submit a paper application which can be downloaded from the Local Authority website. You can telephone 01225 394312 if you would prefer a form to be sent to you.

The admission application deadline for new Year 7 starters is typically the last day of October while the student is in Year 6.

To help you make up your mind about which Secondary School is best for your child we hold an Open Evening in September for prospective parents and students to look around the school and meet our staff and students.

Year 8 to Year 11 and in-year Applications

At Writhlington we recognise that children must sometimes change schools for a variety of reasons. We gladly accept in-year applications for children in all year groups.

Applications must be submitted using the in-year application form which can be found in the list of links to the right. If you wish to discuss the possibility of a space at the school or arrange a tour please contact Nathan Marshall via our contact form who will be able to arrange an appointment for you.

If your application is unsuccessful you will be given the opportunity to appeal against the decision and also to remain on our waiting list should a place become available.
